Rochelle Meyer x Amarula

Rochelle Meyer collaborates with Amarula

Popular cook, entrepreneur and content creator Rochelle Meyer recently bagged a collaboration with Amarula to bring their #ALittleSomethingSomething campaign to life. Consistency, perseverance, and focus are three traits that have helped catapult Rochelle Meyer’s career.

“I was very excited when I got the call about Amarula wanting to work with me. I initially did not think I was the target market for the brand, so I was not sure about the collaboration- I also thought that Amarula was for older people. It took me challenging myself to make a meal that has been infused with Amarula for me to see that Amarula is such a multifaceted drink and brand. Literally anyone can drink it and cook with it. I love that there several ways that one can enjoy Amarula.”

While many people who pursue culinary as a profession start by studying to become a chef and then working in the hospitality industry, and possibly become household names in their field and industry, Rochelle Meyer took a different route led by passion.

“I did not study to become a chef and I am happy to be referred to as a cook because I respect and acknowledge the people who take the time to go the traditional route of studying and then becoming a certified chef.

I also have not always had an interest in cooking and honestly did not care much for it when I was growing up. Over the years, I just started posting meals that I had cooked on social media. My friend then encouraged me to also post my recipes and take the content creation aspect of it seriously. My audience has since grown in ways that I did not expect. My brand catapulted and I now appeal to brand such as Amarula. It has been an incredible journey of growth for me.”

Covid-19 has forced people to look beyond conventional ways of doing things, especially learning. With homeschooling and online learning becoming more popular amongst people who want to learn a new skill or expand on their knowledge in their fields of interest, Rochelle Meyer has simply done the same to help her stay abreast of the industry, master her cooking skills, and learn from famous chefs such as Gordan Ramsey.

“I watch a lot of cooking shows, I do a lot of research and follow a couple of chefs and cooks from all walks of life and that has helped me to stay inspired, expand on my knowledge and for my next meal to be better than my last meal. A chef I look up to and would love to impress with my meals has to be Gordan Ramsey. I am quite versatile with my meals, and I mean I get inspiration for a new meal every two days so I have no doubt that I would blow his mind away.”

Rochelle Meyer’s brand has grown and has enabled her to start an events management company as well as a catering company, Rochelle’s Table, revealing her ambitious self to her audiences. Her authenticity continues to garner her brands that resonate with who she is and what she stands for. “The one thing I love about Amarula is their authenticity. They have remained consistent with their brand and have become such a timeless household drink and brand. I am truly grateful and in awe of that they wanted to work with me.

I would also just advise anyone who wants to become a household brand and content creator to be consistent, to reach out to brands and to invest in a good camera. They are not cheap, but you will thank yourself one day.”

Partnering with Amarula has been a really exciting experience and brand to work with. It helped me push myself and expand on my craft. I am really grateful. I had an opportunity to co-create drinks with Gemelli with Amarula being the main ingredient. This was an awesome challenge; we created a variety of drinks that could be paired up with all the lovely meals served at Gemelli. This included daytime drinks, different tastes, night caps where a lot of creativity came to play but still making sure that we keep it as original as possible and for audiences to still taste the Amarula in each cocktail.”

Rochelle Meyer’s creativity saw her also come up with cocktails are more of your tropical, summer drinks which are amazing for picnics or a date night. “These were all summer inspired. Everyone must taste the summerset Martini. It is amazing even if I have to say so myself. I will actually be pairing these with my meals this coming summer.”

An interesting trend that is filtrating the market is established restaurants partnering with chefs and cooks by allowing for them to be guest chefs or cooks at the restaurant for the day. This enables chefs and cook to build their brands, get exposure, and connect with various audiences who could become potential clients. ”Partnering with Amarula and Gemelli has been a really exciting experience and brands to work with. It helped me push myself and expand on my craft. I am really grateful.”
