Fashion Brand Witchery Partners With the Throne to Invest in SA Female Talent

Witchery, which forms part of the acclaimed Country Road Group, has partnered with The Throne, a Fashion, Influencer and Cultural online magazine, to highlight the entrepreneurial journeys of three young South African women.

This partnership will be an extension of the Witchery Style Collective, which showcases inspiring women and fashion through a series of interviews profiling individuals creating change of their own.

Elouise Brink, Country Road Group’s Senior Marketing Manager, talks about how female empowerment is a core value of the Witchery brand. “Shining a spotlight on the inspirational South African women making an impact in their own lives and the lives of those in their communities is important to us.”

She continues, “The Throne highlights creators and entrepreneurs making a difference in urban communities of South Africa, and from this value alignment, the Witchery Style Collective x The Throne Partnership was born.”

The partnership will be an extension of the Witchery (Australia) Style Collective and will allow the brand to tell stories of female empowerment with a local sense.

Highlighting influential creators and entrepreneurs

As a leading digital platform, The Throne specialises in the dynamic fashion, music, lifestyle, entrepreneurship and creative industries in South Africa, with a special focus on influencers with a rich impact within their respective fields. Caron Williams, Founder of The Throne, describes the brand as part of the nucleus of South Africa’s urban cultural landscape.

“We don’t just understand contemporary urban culture; we live, breathe and produce it. As such, we’ve joined forces with Witchery, a fashion brand that certainly aligns with our mission to highlight female creators and entrepreneurs making a difference in urban communities of South Africa.”

“Witchery itself is a brand that empowers women through fashion, so a partnership with our equally powerful female brand seemed only fitting,” Williams adds.

A platform for women to share their stories

To kick off this partnership, the brands will host their first Witchery Style Collective x The Throne interview with Thembiso Magajana, the bold and beautiful founder of Social Coding. This non-profit company that helps rural communities leverage technology for a better future. Read more HERE

Throughout the partnership, Witchery will help scout known and unknown creators and entrepreneurs, who will have the opportunity to share their journeys and stories with The Throne’s readers and the broader public. “The women of South Africa have incredible stories to share, and we’re providing the platform to help them reach and inspire a wider audience,” adds Brink. The next two interviews will take place over the next two months.

Since its launch in Australia in the 1970s, Witchery’s original design mission has always been to offer affordable fashion to working women. Since the 1980s, the brand has evolved to focus on premium and quality-focused fashion territory. Today, Witchery stands for bold, innovative and quality-led designs. A source of daily style inspiration, dressing women every day sits at the heart of everything the brand does.

“Despite originating in Australia, Witchery’s presence in South Africa continues to grow. We’re excited to partner with The Throne and highlight the amazing and impressive work both known and unknown female creators and entrepreneurs are doing in South Africa. It’s always an honour to meet strong, successful women working hard and making a difference. We’re on a mission to shine a spotlight on these women, and our partnership with The Throne will help us achieve this,” Brink concludes.
