Vivo Mobile Supports The Creativity Industry Through Partnership With
Turnup Music To Present The #vivoIconSeries
Bringing together ten of South Africa’s top musicians in a three day shoot, vivo mobile and TurnUp Music collaborate to present a series of iconic images.
As one of the most innovative global mobile brands vivo firmly believes that technology keeps art alive, and that’s exactly what they exemplify through collaborations with leading South African creatives. The first in a series of roll outs, The #vivoIconSeries was shot by internationally recognised photographer Travys Owen.
Over three days, 10 musicians gathered in a studio in Johannesburg to collaborate with a team of leading creatives. Boogy Maboi led the styling, using clothes and accessories that allowed each musician’s essential essence to shine. Kgomotso Moloto worked on hair, creating bespoke weaves and head-pieces while master make-up artist Orli O played with colours and textures.
The result? The #vivoIconSeries, a collection of 10 portraits of some of SA’s most relevant musicians; Khuli Chana, YoungstaCT, Moonchild, Rowlene and more.
“Iconic images need industry-leading technology to bring ideas to life,” says Hawa Hyath, Marketing Director, vivo mobile South Africa. “The vivo X50 Series is a professional photography flagship that gives users a chance to truly shoot like a pro. With features such as Extreme Night mode, Gimbal stabilization and professional portrait effects.”
“It was so easy to shoot with this ground-breaking phone,” says Travys Owen. “The picture quality is revolutionary.”
“TurnUp Music is all about supporting and inspiring the South African creative industries,” says Thabiet Allie. “It was essential for us, that at the end of this constrictive year, we were able to connect with some of SA’s best artists and celebrate their individuality. Additionally with the help of vivo mobile we were able to bring this to life through the #vivoIconSeries.”
The #vivoIconSeries is the first of the #shootlikeapro activations, a project that shows the revolutionary camera capabilities of the vivo flagship device, the X50PRO.
